Founded in 1979 under the name of Naturgas Fyn (NGF), Nature Energy is Europe’s largest producer of green biogas (biomethane) for the gas grid, corresponding to approximately 5 percent of the green gas in the European gas grid.
Nature Energy is a leader in the green transition and a biogas pioneer.
Today, Nature Energy operates 10 biogas plants located throughout Denmark, and 2 abroad. Nature Energy’s biogas plants will treat more than 5 million tonnes of biomass – waste from agriculture, industry and households – in 2020, converting it into 170 million m3 of green gas.
Xergi and Nature Energy have for several years been among the driving forces behind the development of the Danish biogas sector. The two companies now merging into one strong company offers entirely new opportunities for the employees in both Xergi and Nature Energy.
Xergi A/S designs and constructs turnkey biogas plants. Based on more than 30 years of experience, the company has developed plant concepts that are flexible, robust, reliable and easy to operate. The company has built over 70 biogas plants in the US and Europe.
Xergi has more than twenty years of experience in designing and constructing combined heat and power (CHP) plants. A CHP plant combines the advantages of using the thermal energy that is generated along with the electrical energy. This means environmentally friendly power generation, reduced energy costs and a more secure energy supply.
